Philosophy

The Perception Training Center believes that curriculum alone does not make effective education.  To teach in a skillful way requires an insightful understanding of human growth and development. We believe that in order for children to reach full potential in education and in life, we must aid our children to become socially responsive and emotionally available to learning. We believe the best preparation for success is during the early years of brain formation. The Perception Training Center acknowledges the inner spirit and intrinsic desires of children guide intellectual growth. We practice the Montessori Method and Philosophy in an atmosphere of acceptance and trust. We believe that children create themselves through purposeful activity in our free, carefully prepared environments. Our "follow the child" approach allows for individual learning and one-to-one instruction as each child becomes ready.

The Perception Training Center promotes parent involvement through our active PTO and we have an open door policy for parents. We encourage two-way communication with our families throughout the year and provide opportunities for extra support when needed. We value the diversity of our families. We celebrate the unique heritages that come together to form our community.

Mission

To enhance the quality of life for children in Schuylkill County.

 

The Perception Training Center, Inc., is a private, academic school, certified by the Department of Education and the Department of Public Welfare, providing quality early childhood education for Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Kindergarten and Summer Enrichment for School Age children.

 

We use Montessori Methods that aid our children to achieve independence, organization, coordination and responsibility, with abilities to think clearly and problem solve.  We will advance in leadership in private education, while helping our children to reach full potential in education and in life.

Our vision is to nurture a community of children to grow up mentally healthy, psychologically secure and emotionally fulfilled, possessing self-esteem, moral character, rational thinking and a deep desire to learn, discover and create.
