Director News “December 2008”
We are nearing the end of our 1st semester. Time flies by so quickly. I think I may speak for all the staff. We are having a great time! Discipline Workshop: I would like to thank all of the parents who joined me for the Discipline Workshop. I found it to be very worthwhile. Based on the evaluations, you did as well! It is a privilege and my pleasure to offer support to our families. Email: Updating parents through email has proven to be quick and practical for me. Please let me know personally if you are not an email checker so you are not left out of the loop. Monthly Director News Letters will always be hard copy in your child’s cubby and on our website at www.perceptiontraining.org. CEECE: As you know, the Community Engagement for Early Childhood Education sponsored a tree, at the festival of trees, located next to Sears at the Schuylkill Mall in Frackville. Our Theme: Spirit of Christmas Future. I hope everyone had a chance to see the lovely gingerbreads made by your creative children. I placed Perception gingerbreads low on the tree so that our children can easily see their own. I was just told that families may vote for their favorite tree. Child Illness: Tis the season. Let us all work together to keep our children as healthy as possible. Please follow your handbook when questioning whether or not to send your child to school. Fever the night before is always a No. PTO Fundraiser: The PTO is now sponsoring this one time fundraiser for the year- We are selling tickets for January’s Evening Lottery . If you are certain that you can’t sell any more, please return your unsold to the office. We have a growing list of families who want more! It makes a great holiday gift! Top sellers will be given tuition bucks. Friendship Book Exchange: Your children picked names from a basket. The entire school will participate therefore, the name your child picked may be in a different classroom . School Closed: December 24th, 25th and 26th and December 31st. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Parent Tips: Think about what causes you stress. Make a list. Don’t try to change everything at once. Set one goal and work toward a positive change. When stressed, remember to breathe slowly and focus on what is positive. Stand up for yourself when necessary. Be assertive. Always make time for yourself. Remember, by taking care of ourselves we are better able to care for our children. |
