“We had no intention of enrolling our daughter in a Full Time Preschool Program. As a matter of fact we were on the fence with even Part Time.  Being blessed with not needing daycare, we had been confident Kaylee would be ready for Kindergarten no problem!  About a week before her 4th birthday, it came to our attention that instead of learning her ABC's and 123's in Kindergarten, she would need to know that and much more.  Panic set in and a friend suggested we stop in at Perception.

On a whim the Friday before the 2008-2009 program began, 15 minutes before the facility was closed for the day, the staff welcomed us to tour, and both of us were amazed at the setup of the facility. Our 3 and 4 year old children were drawn right to the practical life area, and as they touched things, Michelle and her staff explained how what they were touching actually was directly working with fine and gross motor skills.  

In less than fifteen minutes we had both been convinced, that the two us who had no early childhood education more than part time kindergarten, would have been set had someone been able to tap our natural ability early on.  Right then and there we asked if we could enroll our daughter Full Time.

We went from having no plans for preschool and thinking we were doing just fine, to finding an environment that is unmatched in caring and nurturing. Our daughter comes home every night beaming at what she "learned" or proudly displays something new she can do. Choosing the Montessori philosophy that revolves around following the child's interest,  has been the best decision we have yet to make in her life, and we would proudly make it again or suggest it to others!”

“Hi, my name is Becky Jacoby and I had the pleasure of meeting the staff at Perception about 9 years ago.  My first thought is, you must see first-hand the wonderful teachings this school provides.  My husband and I decided I would stay home to raise our children because of the results many preschools had to offer us.  A friend of ours recommended we have a tour of The Perception Training Center.  This was the first time we had ever heard of Montessori Teachings.  After meeting with Michelle Dallago, my husband and I were amazed at what this private school could offer my first son at the time.  From independent play, to knowing how to read before starting Kindergarten.  My son taught me techniques about his wonderful little world that I might have missed if it weren't for Perception. Our friendship over the years with the staff has been a wonderful and fulfilling ongoing experience.  I thank the staff for all the seminars and trainings that helped me as parent understand my children thoughts and actions.  So, when our second son was ready to start school we had no doubt in our minds he would also follow his older brother and become part of the family at Perception.  My last words to any parent would be go and experience what Perception can offer your family, see all the learning and openness this school can offer your children.   Life is filled with choices for parents, this one for me, was one of the best that I made for my two sons. My husband and I started looking for childcare shortly after returning to Schuylkill County when I was pregnant with our first child.  After residing outside of the county for over fifteen years, I had no idea about any facilities in the area, so I started making phone calls and visiting sites.  After making an impromptu visit to Perception, I recall the first thing Michelle, the director, said to us after I asked if we could visit the daycare.  She nicely stated, “it  is not a daycare, this is a school.” After taking the time to further explain, we were immediately drawn to Montessori education and knew after our initial visit to Perception that this was the place for our daughter. 

Ayla started at PTCI when she was three months old and we quickly learned that it truly is a school, even for the infants, as the children are individually taught and encouraged to learn at every developmental stage.  The teachers have been amazing throughout both her and my son Teagan’s experience, who also started school when he was 3 months old.  The skills they are learning and the independence they are gaining is incredible!

Returning to work after having both my children was challenging in many ways.  However, knowing they were, and continue to be in such a wonderful and nurturing environment that has allowed them to thrive and become their own unique selves, is turning out to be an amazing experience for all of us.
